Not a mind-blowing story and, of course, it's bathed in olde-timey ideas about love (i.e., you know your true love on sight and fall helplessly in love after only a few words are spoken, etc.) but the "tangled skein" of the story was quite interesting and it was a fun alternate look at English history.Product details

This is a collection of mystery stories with a twists. Each story has it's own set of characters and are basically unrelated so you don't have to read them in order. The Baroness has an easy to read style with enough description to create the scene that draws you into the story. I enjoyed each one
This book drew me in and made me wonder if court life was really like this in England after Henry the VIII. I would definitely read it again.

Baroness Orczy is a very good writer. Has a wide repertoire. Very good read. Well written story. Highly recommend
I loved this book so much! It is exciting, romantic, and I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and story, and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The Scarlet Pimpernel is one of my favorite books, and Orczy did not disappoint in this book either.
I love Baroness Orczy!!!!! This book has a fast pace plot that keeps you hooked. Can't say Tue hero is as good as the Scarlet Pimpernel but you still love him. Especially since it's free
